Age: Yearling
Breed: Thoroughbred
Color/Markings: Gray/Star, 2 socks
Height: 16.2hh
Gender: Colt
Personality: Dash is sharp and intelligent but he knows exactly what he likes and what he doesn't. He is bendable, and very trainable, but when it comes to his quirks and hard habits it's virtually impossible to break the strings. He's generally a sensible horse, and is not at all nasty, but he has a thing about his rear end, where if you touch his flank, between his thighs or if anybody walks behind him without letting him know they are there, he will take a good swinging kick with a hind leg. It can make him very difficult to rug and wash at times, and desensitizing doesn't seem to change his mind. He's also very 'stalliony' when he wants to be, though he won't become aggressive, he pulls off the 'I'm a man' stance very well and is famous for his interested faces and sudden flirting roars whenever a mare passes by. The rumps of geldings wandering passed have managed to peak his interest at times, also. But usually it's all an image thing he tries so hard to pull off, and generally he's an easy and well-mannered horse to handle.

Racing Comments: With his whole 'rear end' thing he has going on, Dash works best as a Closer in an effort to avoid any distractions with horses behind him. Though he is usually a focused horse with his mind on the money; a colt who works well and runs better, it's still safest to avoid the stalkers in the field, even if he does seem like he wants to take to the front. His breaks are of moderate quality, fair but not competitive, he usually will fight at the start of the race in an attempt to take the lead. But his jockey will hold him back, not willing to take any risks, and with some persuasion he will settle in at the back of the pack. He is forever waiting for his cue, and though he is not strong, you must always be one step ahead of him because if he see's an opening he will shoot for it before he is ready. It is just after the half way mark he should make his move, aimed for the safest break in the group and preceding up through the places. How much he takes a win by depends who he runs against, however truly streaking ahead is never a priority, and he will take what he can get without risking his success.
